Ok, so Bleach is a manga series created by Kubo Tite-sensei that's been running in Weekly Shonen Shunday since 2001. It tells the story of a 15 year old orange-haired boy named Kurosaki Ichigo who's got the ability to see and talk to ghosts. One day, a female shinigami by the name of Kuchiki Rukia crosses his path and changes his life forever. Through a series of happenings, Ichigo ends up taking up the job of substitute shinigami, and makes fighting hollows (evil spirits) his job.

The subject of this fanlisting, Ishida Uryuu, first shows up in tankoubon 4, chapter 29, even though we don't really get to see him at that time. He's about to jump the security cord at the Don Kanonji spectacle when a plus-kind soul turns into a hollow, but since Ichigo gets there faster than him, he decides not to intervene.

The first time we get to see his face is in that same tankoubon, chapter 33, when Ichigo runs past him while being dragged by Rukia to fight some hollow. Soon after, he reveals himself to the main characters of the story and thus the amazing stories of Quincy Ishida Uryuu begin! <33

As for Bleach's animated version, Ishida first appears in episode 11 (they skipped his Don Kanonji cameo) and excluding some little changes here and there, his anime persona is faithful to the manga original. His seiyuu (voice actor) is none other than the amazingly talented Sugiyama Noriaki (from Sasuke fame), who does and impossible better job giving voice to Ishida <33
